Comic-Con & VidCon Recap

Hey y’all!

Man it’s been quite awhile since I sat down and WROTE a post rather than posted a picture or video. I hope you guys like the video and picture content. I myself consume things like video/images and audio much easier than written word so I’m guessing some of you would too. Plus Tumblr (and I) can be so A.D.D. so a cool pic can be just enough.

Anyway, I wanted to recap how crazy awesome this past July was for Throwboy. I flew out to California and spent 10 days reppin’ the brand.  The first order of business (ha) was attending San Diego Comic-Con.  I went out there with a 4-day pass and high hopes that I would meet a nice exhibitor that would let me share their booth to sell pillows.  And I did! Cristina of Lead Point Comics was kind enough to let me share her table space during the last two days of the convention.  I was PUMPED.  SDCC is the biggest convention of it’s kind with over 90,000 attendees and Throwboy has been on it’s exhibitor waiting list to get for 2 years. Typical waiting time is 4 years. So this year I knew I just had to hustle and something would pan out. Gotta get creative guys :)

After Comic-Con I spent 3 days staying with my friend Denis from L.A.W.L.S./Artistic Doom in Los Angeles. He’s an amazing comic book artist who exhibits at many cons in the US. He helped me a ton figuring out how I wanted my next booth to look like for VidCon. We even went as far as building a scale replica of the booth in his front yard.

Then it was VidCon time.  Wow. This was by far my favorite part of my entire trip. This place was PACKED and before we could even setup the booth people were already wanting to make a purchase. Can’t go wrong with that. Plus, the booth turned out so great and was a huge hit. My goal was to make it look like a 70s basement and I think we were spot on. It was well worth the preparation. Not to mention having to draw every line on the wood wall to make it “panelling.” Here are pictures of people at our booth! By far the best part was getting to meet all the fans. Getting to meet you guys IRL and hearing how you discovered Throwboy from YouTube and DailyBooth is such a great feeling.  Can’t wait to go to more cities and meet more of you.

Back in Seattle. Back to work! Awesome things coming soon!
